What if someone asks you for money ?
Charities are great, and supported by the generosity of people like you. They help many people.
But there are those people - con artists - who want to take advantage of your good will and kind-hearted nature. So be careful. Know who it is you are giving your money to.
Don’t let the money that you meant to give to needy people fall into the hands of the con man (or the con woman).
Don’t let Charity Fraud harm you.
Here’s another con artist favorite trick, the “Pigeon Drop”. This time they pretend they want to share their money with you.
· You’ve probably heard of this, where someone (the con artist) calls or approaches you, and says they found some money, and offers to share it with you.
· They say that all you have to do is to give them some “GOOD FAITH” money, and they will go to the bank to get your share of the money they found, and will be right back.
· DON’T DO IT. They won’t be back, and you’ll never see your “good faith” money again. You won’t get the share of the money they promised to you either. You’ll never see the con artist again.
Is it hard to believe that people fall for such tricks ?
No, it’s not.
Con artists may be the greatest actors you'll ever meet. The “Pigeon Drop” scheme is one of the most successful con games.
Don't be fooled. Don’t be their victim.
